Mackereth heading toward Marketing
This week’s First National Bank of Proctor Academic All-Star is Brian Mackereth.
Brian’s favorite class this school year is DECA Seminar instructed by Jay Belcastro.
“I enjoy working on different projects and we learn more than we do in a normal classroom. This class really prepares us for life after high school,” comments Brian.
He plans to attend college and major in Event Management or Marketing Education with a minor in Accounting. He would like to attend the University of Denver in Colorado, or FIU in Florida or the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities.
Art Seminar teacher Ms. Barbara Steen remarks, “Brian is one of those incredible young people who has achieved so much in life. He is tireless in his work ethic for Proctor High School and students. I know that Brian is meant for great things in life and we know he will make us proud. His wonderful personality is so enjoyable to be around, and we will miss him next year.”
Brian is a member of the National Honor Society, DECA, Student Council, and Senior/Freshmen Mentoring.
Brian has been involved in Track and Cross Country.
He says it’s hard to pick one memorable moment as a student at Proctor High School. However, he will miss doing things with friends such as going to games and formal dances, and participating in DECA.
Brian’s special interests are going out on the lake in the summer, and snowboarding or pretty much anything you can do in the snow.
Parents Patrice and Randi Mackereth of Duluth comment, “We’re very proud of Brian and his strong work ethics. He’s kind and hard working with a great sense of humor. These qualities will help him be successful in life.”
