Sundstrom to pursue graphic arts
This week’s First National Bank of Proctor Academic All-Star is Kimberly Sundstrom. She is the daughter of Mark and Michelle Sundstrom of Proctor.
Kim has been involved in football and hockey cheerleading at PHS and played in the Powderpuff football competition. She loves to go to the beach, draw, write, play music, cheerlead and dance.
Sundstrom plans to attend Lake Superior College (LSC) for her generals and then transfer to a college in Southern Minnesota, where she will study Graphic Arts and Design. She is considering a minor in French. She hopes to be able to get a job in the Proctor area.
Sociology with Ms. Betsy Little is Kim’s favorite class. She says, “I have met a bunch of new people. I am doing PSEO at LSC, and these classes are really fun. We do a lot of group work.”
Kim says her most memorable moment was probably this year’s cheerleading. “We girls have so much fun together! Powderpuff was awesome. I’m sure this year has tons of great memories yet to come.”
Amy Haedrich, Kim’s cheerleading coach, writes, ”It has been very rewarding having Kim on my cheer squad. Not only is she my sister, but an awesome cheerleader. She is a great leader; strong base and “hero” as a back on the stunts the cheerleaders perform. I am so glad I convinced her to try out. Our squad will miss her talents, but I know she has bigger and better plans for her future, with great success and potential. “
Her parents comment, “We have enjoyed raising Kimberly and watching her grow into a talented and creative young woman. We look forward to seeing her days unfold as she goes about creating her life. We know she will accomplish all that she sets out to do and will be a blessing to many others. We are proud of Kim and look to her future with much love and an expectation of good things to come. Her confidence and fun-loving nature will take her far.”
