Proctor-Hermantown-Marshall senior Julia Gilbert punched home a hat-trick to lead her Mirage team to a 14-0 shutout of Superior at Wessman Arena. Classmate Hannah Buchite and juniors Emma Stauber and Nicole Mathews added 2 goals each as PHM outshot the Spartans a staggering 47-6. The Mirage pulled out to a 7-0 lead after one period before adding 3 goals in the second and 4 goals in the third. Scoring 1st period: Gilbert; Gilbert (Justina Lindberg); Abby Minor (Buchite, Alyssa Wargin); Mathews (Lindberg); Abbey Fox (Steph Strapple, Reilly Fawcett); Rachel Rossiter (Buchite); and Buchite. 2nd period: Buchite; Amanda St. Germaine (Wargin); and Stauber (Mathews, Gilbert). 3rd period: Strapple (Fox); Mathews (Buchite); Stauber; and Gilbert (Mathews). Junior Amanda Bockovich had 6 saves for the Mirage.

PHM travels to Cloquet tonight, Thursday, to play Cloquet-Esko-Carlton in a Thunderdome rematch of the Section 7A final last season that saw the Lumberjacks defeat the Mirage and earn a trip to the 2009 state tournament.
