Future unlimited for Kristen Jahr

Proctor Journal

This week’s First National Bank of Proctor Academic All Star Kristen Jahr has a wide range of strengths and interests. Her favorite class this year is Composition taught by Mr. Pothast.

She commented, “The class challenges me like no class has ever before. I put so much more thought and effort into my writing now that I am in Comp. Mr. Pothast instills that desire to write the perfect paper through his high expectations of his students”

“Kristen possesses tenacity and an incredible work ethic,” stated Mr. Pothast. “While other composition students may succumb to procrastination and missed deadlines, I can count on her to be prepared, ready to do her best work.”

Kristen’s college plans include possibly Gustavus Adolphus or the College of St. Benedict, but she is also considering attending college in Montana or Colorado. Her major area of study could be Pre-Med, Pre-Law, Pre-Pharmacy or Pre-Engineering. She would like to find a successful career and live out West.

Kristen is involved in drama and the National Honor Society. She also plays varsity soccer and is senior co-captain, as well as varsity hockey. She has played AYSA soccer for 12 years.

Kristen enjoys reading classic novels, camping and fishing in the Boundary Waters, snowboarding in the mountains out West, and playing with her Labrador retrievers, Jenna and Abby.

Parents Donald and Brenda Jahr of Proctor commented, Kristen has an amazing work ethic. She always sets a high standard and then commits herself to it 100%, whether it’s academics, athletics or everyday life. Kristen’s future opportunities are unlimited
