PHS band holding coffee fund raiser

Proctor Journal

Are you looking for a unique holiday gift that will also benefit the Proctor High School band? On Nov. 8, senior high band members began a gourmet coffee fund-raiser. This is their sixth consecutive year for this fund-raiser, thanks to a generous community as well as the superb quality of the coffee.

Band Director Gordy Westendorf stated, "You are definitely receiving a valuable product for the amount of money you are spending. I even place orders for this coffee all yearlong; it is simply that good."

There are a wide variety of flavors available ranging in price from $9.95 to $12.95. Old World Coffee also offers a variety of teas and hot chocolates. Last year, there was a sampler gift pack of different flavors of coffee that was a huge seller for Christmas gifts. This year, there is a sampler gift pack of hot chocolates also available.

Mr. Westendorf explained, ?I had been telling our representative for years to develop a sampler pack, so I was very excited to see that he finally took my advice. I knew it would be a good seller, and I think the new hot chocolate sampler will also sell well.?

Orders are scheduled to arrive on Dec. 11, just in time for Christmas. Proceeds from the sale will go toward the band?s trip to the Cities. They plan to attend ?Disney on Ice? at the Target Center this winter as well as see a Broadway production in the spring.

If you are not asked by a band member to purchase coffee and would like to place an order, call Gordy Westendorf at 628-4926 ext. 1037.
