Last Tues., Oct. 16, 2007, the Rails’ Proctor-Hermantown (P-H) girls swimmers teamed up with Denfeld and Cloquet to win the 2nd Annual North vs. South Invite. The North teams were from Eveleth-Gilbert and Mesabi East. They were one team short as International Falls did not participate. P-H also won the individual team championship by beating last year’s winner Eveleth-Gilbert by 61 points.

The girls were off to a great start by winning all three heats of the 200 Medley Relay, placing 1st, 4th and 9th. First place finishes went to Nora Stauber (50 Freestyle), Kristie Albin (100 Butterfly) and Brittany Asanovich (100 Breaststroke). Katie Albin finished 2nd in both of her individual events (200 and 500 Freestyle), and Nora Stauber (100 Freestyle) and Laura Kesti (100 Breaststroke) also gained 2nd places.

This invite was a great win and morale booster for the Rails as they head into this Saturday’s (Oct. 27) Conference Championships Meet in Superior.
