School was canceled in Proctor and business was disrupted Monday morning when

electricity was cut to the community.

A contractor cut an underground Minnesota power line in Duluth at 8:08 a.m. Power

remained out until 11 a.m.

The State Highway Patrol and were stationed at the stop lights and the Proctor street

department put up temporary four way stops at two of the intersections.

Students from the high school and middle school were sent home around 9:45 a.m.

after classes were canceled when back up power generators failed to work. Bay View

Elementary school were sent home at 10:45 a.m.

Parent-teacher conferences for Monday were cancelled and may be rescheduled.
