Olson enjoys studying criminology

Proctor Journal

This week’s First National Bank of Proctor Academic All-Star is Lacey Olson.

Lacey is undecided about her course of study when she attends university, but would like to go to Mankato State or somewhere in the Twin Cities. She states that American Justice, with Mr. Nate Johnson, is her favorite class this year. “I enjoy learning about criminology and Mr. Johnson is a great teacher. He knows how to make learning entertaining. I look forward to the class every day.”

Lacey is on the Student Council and the Link Crew. She plays AYSA soccer and sand volleyball at the Sunset, and enjoys jet-skiing, motorcycle trips with her dad and going to the beach.

She has made many friends and memories through her involvement in sports at Proctor. “Every sport has great coaches.”

Mr. Johnson says, “Lacey is a dedicated student and a talented writer. She has an inquisitive mind. She has the ability to ‘see’ the issue at hand and look at what is discussed in class from many points of view. At the same time, she makes up her mind about what she believes and backs it up respectfully.”

Lacey’s parents are Paula & Dan Danyluk and Mike Olson. Her mother writes, “Lacey works very hard in school. She takes her classes and grades very seriously. We are very proud of her and all she has accomplished so far. She has a great future ahead of her. We are very excited to see the path Lacey chooses for her future.”
