Class size up 4%
The Proctor School District gained more students than was expected in projections earlier in the year.
Enrollment is up .039 percent over last year. Enrollment is up in three of five of the district schools.
The district was expecting to be down 20 students when school began this fall, but numbers show the district is up 69 for a total of 1,792 students.

Ten of the 13 grades saw increases.
The largest increase is in kindergarten with 23 kids. The third grade has 20 more and the sixth grade has 13 additional students. Both the first and ninth grades have 12 more students.
Losses came in the seventh, tenth and twelfth grades. The tenth grade now has 18 fewer students compared to the end of last year, with a population of 140. The seventh grade dropped 11 to 134 and the senior class dipped 1 to 150.
The largest class is the juniors, which saw an increase of 6 and is now at 154.

Bay View had a 57-student increase to 502 over last year, while Pike Lake increased 13 to 151 and the Middle School had a 2-student increase to 409.
Bay View’s biggest increase came in its kindergarten class with 17 additional students. Other increases were:
• second grade – up 14 to 87
• third grade – up 11 to 82
• first grade – up 10 to 80
The school’s only loss came in its ECSE program with 3 fewer students.
Caribou Lake has a net loss of 2 students but has an increase in its kindergarten, up 6 to 50 and first grade, up 2 to 43.
Pike Lake has 13 more students for a total of 151. It had increases in the third and fourth grades. The fifth grade lost 1, leaving 44.
The Middle School has 2 more students. The increase was 13 in the sixth grade. Eighth grade held even at 140, while the seventh grade lost 11 and is now at 134.
