Proctor Councilor Resigns

Proctor City Councilor Erica Hom resigned Wednesday afternoon according to Mayor

Stephen Anderson. Her resignation becomes effective October 1.

Hom wrote that her resignation was due to purchasing a home in Duluth. She thanked

and apologized to her constituents.

Hom was finishing her second year of a four-year term.

Anderson said there would be no decision on her replacement until after the November

general election. In the past the city council has offered vacant council seats to those

who have run unsuccessfully for the city council.

Three people are on the ballot for two seats on the council. Incumbent Tom Lavato,

Jake Benson and Shawn McGovern. Both Lavato and Benson were first appointed to

their seats after losing elections.
