Public Meetings Scheduled Regarding Hells Angels Summer Ride

The Hells Angels Motorcycle Club will be holding their USA Summer Ride in Carlton

County from July 29 Through August 2.

The Hells Angels are a worldwide motorcycle club that sponsors a USA Ride every year

prior to the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in South Dakota. This year’s ride will take place in

Carlton County, in addition to rides throughout the Arrowhead region. The USA Rally

will consist of Hell’s Angels members from throughout the United States and possibly

other countries. In addition to Hells Angels members other affiliated motorcycle clubs

are expected to join them for the 5 day event. About 500-1000 people are expected

to turn out for the ride.

Residents of the area can expect to see increased law enforcement presence during the

Summer Rally. Patrols and personnel from the following departments will be working

in the area ; Carlton County Sheriff, St. Louis County Sheriff, MN State Patrol, Fond du

Lac Police, Cloquet Police and Duluth Police.

Local Law Enforcement agencies, along with State and Federal agencies have worked

together in coordinating an appropriate Law Enforcement response for the 2009 Rally.

Anyone interested in additional information on the Hells Angels Summer Rally can

attend one of two public meetings being held in mid-July.

The meetings will take place on July 14 at the Barnum High School Auditorium at 6:30

pm (the high school is just off I-35 and County Rd 6) and on July 15 at the Cloquet

Middle School Auditorium at 6:30. The Cloquet Middle School is located at 509 Carlton

Avenue in Cloquet.
