Growers asked to meeting Wed.
Planning for Farmers Market continues

Proctor Journal

Plans for a Farmer’s Market in Proctor are proceeding. Those interested in a market are encouraged to attend an informational meeting, Wed July 9 at 7 p.m. at the Proctor Area Community Center.

Lois Hoffbauer is leading the drive to establish a farmers market. She would like to meet with prospective vendors to discuss ideas.

Tentative plans call for a market every other Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. beginning July 20.

Hoffbauer is asking area farmers and back-yard growers to attend the meeting or give her a call at 218-624-4159 or 218-591-0632 to show their interest in being part of a locally grown market.

Hoffbauer, who chairs the Duluth Farmers Market, is enthusiastic about the initial response. “We have received a lot of positive feedback from both growers and shoppers,” she said.
