Community visioning session Tuesday

Proctor Journal

A community visioning session will be held Tues., May 13 at 6:30 p.m. at the PACC.

“We want to hear from the community about what they envision for Proctor’s future,” said Arrowhead Regional Development Commission Planner Holly Butcher. “Their comments will become part of the comprehensive plan.”

With rapidly changing conditions and events occurring in the city, Proctorites are being called upon to evaluate the status of the city for the plan. Community members are being called again to discuss existing problems and plan for future growth.

Proctor’s first plan was completed in 1974. Another plan was done in 1997 and updated in 2002.

The document outlines broad goals and general steps for Land Use, Economic Development, Housing, Transportation, Recreation, and Infrastructure.

In the past, the City Council used the Comprehensive Plan as a working document. It’s been an invaluable resource in the decision-making process because it defines the priorities of the citizens.

An invitation to attend the “community visioning session” will be included in the utility bill.
