Snow closes Proctor schools
Proctor's secondary schools will close at 1:00 p.m. Elementary schools will close at
about 2 p.m. (one hour later as the buses return). The DARE graduation scheduled for
this evening at 6:00 p.m. will be postponed to Thursday, April 2 at 6:00 p.m.
The snowstorm prompted closing throughout the area.
Gusty winds are whipping snow and sleet in the Proctor area, reducing visibility and
making roads slippery.
A Winter Storm Warning is in effect through 7am tomorrow for the following counties:
Koochiching, Itasca, Aitkin, Crow Wing, Cass, Carlton, Pine, St. Louis, Lake, Cook,
Burnett, Douglas, Bayfield, and Washburn. Winds will be blustery out of the east
gusting up to 40mph. Snow totals will range from 5-12", with the larger
accumulations through the range and up the north shore where lake enhancement will
add to snow totals.
