Emergency Preparedness program to be held Apr. 21

Proctor Journal

We've seen it on TV and read about it in the print media. Pictures and stories of hurricanes, tornadoes, fires, floods, and the human suffering and misery they bring with them. Have you ever asked yourself what you would do if this ever happened to you? How would you take care of yourself and your family if your way of life was disrupted and torn apart for any of the mentioned reasons? How do you prepare? Here is your chance to find out and learn to plan for emergencies.

A presentation on Individual and Family Emergency Preparedness will be held at the PACC, Sat., April 21 from 9:00 a.m. to noon. Subjects to be covered will include putting together an individual or family emergency preparation plan, Pandemic information, and will conclude with SkyWarn training by the National Weather Service. We will be using the book, Are You Ready, An In-depth Guide to Citizen Preparedness. The book is available from FEMA and can be obtained by calling 1-800-480-2520. Pre-registration is requested and can be made by calling the Proctor Police Dept. at 624-7788. We look forward to seeing you there. Let’s get ready!
