Snowmobilers arrested for burglary, assault

Three snowmobilers from the St. Cloud area face criminal charges after they broke into

a Proctor home and assaulted its residents early Saturday morning.

The three were being held in the St. Louis County Jail where they are pending charges. 


The charges include Burglary, Assault, Damage to Property, Obstruction and Fleeing

Police in a motor vehicle.

Proctor Police responded to a call Sat., Jan. 30, at approximately 2:32 am. to a

disturbance on the 200 block of Fourth Street in Proctor.

Investigation revealed that earlier during the evening there had been an verbal

altercation in the parking lot of 501 3rd Avenue, (Tail Gate Bar & Grill) between some

local residents and out of town snowmobilers.

Later on that evening the snowmobilers responded to where the locals went and

forcibly broke into the residence and assaulted the occupants, according to the report.

When police arrived two of the suspects fled on snow mobiles. With assistance from

the St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office, Duluth Police Department, Minnesota State Patrol

and the Hermantown Police department the suspects were apprehended.
