Computers are Lillie’s future

Proctor Journal

This week’s First National Bank of Proctor Academic All-Star is Jon Lillie.

Jon’s favorite class this year is Band instructed by Sir Westendorf.

He remarks, “I love pretty much everything about this class including the different styles of music we play, the freedom we have, and the friendliness and the approachability of the teacher.”

“Jon is a fundamental part of our band,” comments Gordy Westendorf, Band Director. “He is hard working and always puts forth his best effort. His participation in pep band is exceptional and he can always be counted on to be a leader of the group. He is definitely an asset to our program.”

Jon plans to attend Lake Superior College to earn an Associates Degree in Computer Science. He then will attend the University of Wisconsin-Superior to pursue a major in Computer System and Information.

His long-term goals are to work (IT) for a big company and make enough money to support a family comfortably, as well as his parents.

Jon plays trumpet in Pep Band. He was also in the Fall Drama performance, and an attorney for plaintiff and defense in Mock Trial.

Soccer is his favorite sport. He played the goalie position for varsity soccer, and also for Indoor Soccer. He played goalie and midfield positions for Gitchi Gammi Soccer.

Jon’s Proctor High School years have been full of so many great moments he found it wasn’t possible to pick one over the rest.

His special interests include soccer, computers, family, music and work.

Parents John and Sherie Lillie of Saginaw say, “With JT, so far so good. We are especially pleased with his commitment to the family as a whole. He always has time for even the littlest Lillie. He is respectful of all people and is always willing to lend a hand.”
