Early Childhood Art Fair Saturday

Proctor Journal

In celebration of our young artists in the Proctor and Hermantown communities, the Early Childhood Coalition is sponsoring the fourth annual Early Childhood Art Fair for children from birth to kindergarten age. Experiences with open-ended art activities give our children the opportunity to develop skills in all areas of development. When young children create with art, they are learning early literacy skills that will eventually lead to reading and writing success in the future. Art also allows them to express and share their stories, fears, joys, and thoughts.

On the day of the event, parents and their children will be able to see their work displayed and create masterpieces at any of the many stations that will be set up. A wide variety of art materials will be available for individual creative expression.

The Early Childhood Art Fair will be held Sat., Feb. 2, 2008, at the Hermantown Early Childhood Center – 5028 Miller Trunk Hwy. Registration is not necessary to participate and the Art Fair is offered free of charge to families in the Proctor and Hermantown School Districts. Please be sure to mark your calendar today and join us in support of our young artists!
