Mable Sundquist,

Mable Sundquist of Duluth, who formerly resided in Proctor during the 50’s and 60’s, died Sun., Oct. 15, 2006, at Wesley Residence. She was 81.

She was born in Duluth on Aug. 7, 1925 to Larkin and Alma Hall. Mable was a Life Member of VFW post 137 Auxiliary, she had also been a volunteer on the Harborview citizen patrol for 10 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Robert Sundquist Sr., son Robert Sundquist Jr., great-granddaughter Alyssa Zebott, one sister, and two brothers.

Mable is survived by children Carol Zebott, Sally (Chuck) Stoddard, Richard (Peggy) Sundquist, Elsie Switzer, and Bonnie Frederick of St. Paul, 13 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, brothers Leonard Hall of Proctor, Leroy Hall, William Hall, Ramon Hall of Little Falls, and Larkin Hall of Alaska, and several nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service was held with Chaplain Gary Miller officiating.

Larkin J. Hall, Larkin J. Hall, who was a Proctor High School graduate, died Wed., Nov. 1, 2006 from a heart attack at the South Peninsula Hospital in Homer, Alaska. The Anchor Point resident was 72.

Larkin was born Nov. 20, 1933 to Larkin and Alma (Gish) Hall in Duluth. After his high school graduation, he entered the US Army and served for two years and then went into Army Reserve for 24 years. He retired from the 367th Engineer Battalion. He worked in the DM&IR railroad in Proctor as a car inspector for 34 years. He resided in Anchorage from 1989 to 1995, then moved to Libby, Montana where he married his wife Viola in 1997. Together they moved to Homer in 2002 where he worked at Safeway. Larkin enjoyed fishing, bowling, playing cards and hunting. He was involved with the Little League, Boy Scouts of America, and belonged to the VFW. He was a member of the Church of Christ in Anchor Point.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters.

He is survived by his wife of nine years Viola of Anchor Point, son and daughter-in-law Larkin John and Wendy Hall of Proctor, daughters and sons-in-law Denise Houle of Cloquet, Debbie and Dave Kratsas of Anchor Point and Lori and Brian Mitchell of Anchorage, brothers Leonard Hall of Proctor, Ramon, Leroy and Bill Hall, all of Little Falls, 14 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.

At his request, a funeral was not held.

Carol Marie (Mallon) Zebott, Carol Marie (Mallon) Zebott, who had been a resident of Proctor and attended the Proctor Public Schools through her freshman year, died unexpectedly, Sun., Nov. 5, 2006 in her Midtowne Manor II home. She was 62.

Carol was a 1962 graduate of Denfeld High School and a graduate of the Regional Occupational Program in Calif., receiving a degree in general office studies. She had been an employee of Contra Costa County, Calif. for 15 years. Carol was a life member of VFW Post No. 137 Auxiliary and a former member of Temple Baptist Church. She enjoyed her grandchildren, family gatherings and shopping the day after Thanksgiving.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents and brother Robert Sundquist Jr.

Survivors include her daughters Marilyn (David) Lynch of Floodwood and Cheryl (Howard) England of Otsego, siblings Sally (Chuck) Stoddard and Dickie (Peggy) Sundquist, both of Duluth, and Elsie Switzer and Bonnie Frederick, both of St. Paul, five grandchildren, four uncles, many nieces and nephews, and the father of her children Bruce Zebott of Texas.

Burial in Hermantown Cemetery.
