Rae Pearson, Rae Pearson of Proctor died Sun., Nov. 6, 2005 at Viewcrest Health Center. She was 84.

She was born Dec. 9, 1920 in Duluth to Albert and Rebecca (Walker) Anderson. Rae graduated from Denfeld High School in 1939. She married Roy Pearson Dec. 10, 1940 in Duluth. Rae was a member of the DWP Railroad Retirement Club and the West Duluth American Legion. She enjoyed fishing, especially for brook trout, gardening and was an animal lover.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers Lee and Hubert Anderson.

Rae is survived by her husband of almost 65 years Roy, daughter Arlene Pearson of Duluth, son Gary (Eileen) Pearson of Duluth, grandsons G. Scott Pearson of Nevada and Michael (Tracy) Pearson of Duluth, and great-granddaughter Makayla.

A private family service was held.

Robert E. “Bob” Barlage, Jr., Services were held Sun., Nov. 6, 2005 for Robert E. “Bob” Barlage, Jr. He died Wed., Nov. 2, 2005, peacefully in his sleep, surrounded by his loving family. He was 70.

He was born Sept. 4, 1935 in Graceville, Minn., to Robert and Adeltrude “Del” (Hamilton) Barlage, Sr. Bob served his country in the United States Army. He was a member of the Moose Lodge and the American Legion Post 137. Bob enjoyed fishing and hunting.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Bob is survived by his mother Adeltrude “Del”, sister Marlene (Bill) Lindgren, brother Richard (Margaret) Barlage, children Shawn Cordell, Beth Ann Gabrielson, Tina Marie Illikainen, Robert Barlage and Greg Barlage, grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.

Service was held in the Cremation Society of Minnesota Chapel, with Pastor Mark Osthus officiating. Burial in Oneota Cemetery.

John R. “Jack” Kaptonak, Sr, Nancy (Dan) Swanson of Solway is in bereavement following the death of her father, John R. “Jack” Kaptonak, Sr. He died from Parkinson’s related complications Wed., Nov. 2, 2005, in his Duluth home surrounded by his loving family. He was 82.

Jack was born in Superior. He began helping on his Grandpa Sislo’s farm and was a newsboy during the depression. Jack graduated from Superior Central High School in 1941. During World War II, he was a motor machinist mate second class. Jack married Rosella Roach on Oct. 3, 1959. He worked on the Great Northern/Burlington Railroad for over 36 years. Jack was a member of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Conrad.

John is survived by his wife Rosella, his other children Susan (Duane) Anderson, Mary (Dale) Siemsen of Hermantown, Barbara Kaptonak, John Kaptonak, Jr., Jim Kaptonak of Duluth and Bill (Wendy) Kaptonak of Sauk Rapids, ten grandchildren, sister Louise McCaffrey of Duluth, brother Donald (Ethyl) Kaptonak of New Lenox, Ill., numerous nieces and nephews, special aunt Rose Nollet, and several cousins.

Service was held Saturday in St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church with Father John Petrich officiating. Burial took place at Oneota Cemetery. Military rites were accorded by the Navy Honor Guard.
