Clinton W. Bryant , Services were held for Clinton W. Bryant last week. He died Wed., Oct. 17 in Duluth. He was 96.
He was born in Clarion, Iowa. A Duluth resident since 1921, he retired from Interlake Iron Corp. in 1962 after 36 years of service. He was a lifetime member of the Loyal Order of the Moose, West Duluth 1478. Mr. Bryant was preceded in death by his wife Eileen A. (Warnock) on July 28, 1992, sons Ernie on July 24, 1995 and James on Jan. 2, 2000, and two sisters.
Survivors include his son John (Joanne) of Proctor, his daughter-in-law Susie Bryant of Proctor, nine grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, a great-great-grandson, and several nieces and nephews.
Services were in Forbes United Methodist Church, Proctor.
Burial was in Oneota cemetery. Arrangements were made by Bell Brothers Funeral Directors.
Herbert Lyle “Herb” Anderson, Services were held earlier in the week for Herbert Lyle “Herb” Anderson. He died unexpectedly Fri., Oct. 19 in Beaver Bay. He was 38.
The Fifth Street Proctor resident was born in Duluth and worked for the Chromaline Corp. since 1989. He married Laurie Anne Wilton on Nov. 3, 1990, in Munger Township. Herb was an avid NASCAR fan and liked to four-wheel, fish and cook. He enjoyed life, had a joke for everyone, and offered a helping hand for everyone. He will be sadly missed by everyone who knew him.
Herb was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Andrew and Christine Anderson, and his maternal grandparents Sophia and Adolph Mencel.
Survivors include his wife Laurie, his parents Herbert L., Sr. and Connie Anderson of Duluth, his brother John A. (Bridget Waller) of Duluth, sisters Mary (Fred Bodin) Holz of Holyoke and Anne (Jim) Einbu of Duluth, his father- and mother-in-law Tom and Frieda Wilton of Brookston, and by his brothers- and sisters-in-law, aunts, uncles, nephews, many friends, and loyal companions Lacy, Rufus and Priscilla.
Arrangements were made by Bell Brothers Funeral Directors.
Emory Cooper Herendeen, Services will be held today, Thurs., for Emory Cooper Herendeen of Anderson Rd., Hermantown. He died Sat., Oct. 20, 2001 in St. Mary’s Hospital. He was 79.
Emory was born in Grand Rapids on Feb. 1, 1922. He served in the Air Force during WW II. He married Joyce Bennett in 1948 in Forbes United Methodist Church, Proctor. Emory worked as a clerk for DM&IR Railway Company for 32 years. He was a former Boy Scout leader, a member of Salem Lutheran Church, and Lincoln Park VFW.
Survivors include his wife Joyce, a daughter, a son, four grandchildren, two brothers, and two sisters.
Visitation will continue at Salem Lutheran Church from noon until the 1 p.m. funeral service today.
Burial will be in Oneota cemetery. Arrangements were made by Bell Brothers Funeral Directors.
Robert E. Miller, Brett Barby of Proctor is in bereavement following the death of his stepfather, Robert E. Miller. He died Thurs., Oct. 11, 2001 in a Duluth hospice. He was 67.
The Superior resident was born in Superior and lived many years in Superior and Chicago. He was a forklift driver for Continental Can Co. in Chicago for many years until his retirement in 1984.
Mr. Miller was a member of Holy Assumption Catholic Church.
Robert is also survived by his wife Joan, a son, two daughters, a stepdaughter, another stepson, eight grandchildren, seven stepgrandchildren, five brothers, a sister, a stepsister, and several nieces and nephews.
Burial was in Calvary Cemetery.
