Joseph B. Anderson, Joseph B. Anderson, who was born in Proctor and was a 1933 Proctor High School graduate, died Mon., Oct. 15, 2007, at his residence. He was 92.
He was born to Thomas and Jensine Anderson. Joe married Ruby V. Pearson in Duluth on Nov. 4, 1939. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. Joe had worked as a firefighter with the Duluth Fire Dept. for 30 years, retiring as a Captain in 1973. He was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church, the IFA Retirees and former member of the International Firefighters Association.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents, wife Ruby in 1997, and daughter-in-law Cheryl Anderson.
He is survived by sons Jeffrey L. (Susan Remus) of St. Cloud and Terry (Connie Sue Young) of Duluth, daughter Denise (Robert) Pulford of Richfield, grandchildren Peter (Leah McLeod) Anderson, Michelle (Peter) Carlson, Jensine Pulford and Kristian Pulford, sister Adleide Gunhus of Fergus Falls, and many nieces, nephews and friends.
A service was held last Thursday in Bethany Lutheran Church. Burial at Bethany Cemetery.
Nicki Larson, Nicki Larson of Saginaw went to be with the Lord Tues., Oct. 16, 2007. She was 42.
Nicki was born in Duluth to Eugene and Jane Russell. Currently employed at United Healthcare, she had previously worked at Park Point Manor, Cellular One, and the Proctor School District, where she made and retained many friends. Nicki was generous, caring, with a wonderful sense of humor, and was always willing to help others.
She was preceded in death by her mother.
Nicki is survived by her loving husband of 23 years Curt, sons Curtis, Jr. and Dillon, father Eugene, Sr., siblings Vicki, Eugene, Jr. (Dawn), Leslie (Chap) Korman, Kelly, and Scott (Jean), mother-in-law Lavonne Larson, father-in-law Curt Larson, several nieces and nephews, and best friends Jamie and Tiny.
A memorial service was held Fri., Oct. 19, 2007 in Cremation Society of Minnesota. Bonnie J. Finkbeiner, Bonnie J. Finkbeiner of Grand Lake went home to be with the Lord Tues., Oct. 16, 2007. She was 70.
She was born in 1937 in Minot, N.D. to Adolph and Hazel Schmidt. Bonnie was a devoted wife, loving mother, and shared her gift of hospitality. She was a woman of great faith, who died with an abiding hope in Jesus Christ.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Norman, and brother Ardel.
Bonnie is survived by children Keith (Joan) Finkbeiner, Noreen Otten and Paul (Cheri) Finkbeiner, grandchildren Rachel, Janelle, Johnathan, Sam and Megan, sister Judy (Ordean) Huus, brother Rodnie (Billie) Schmidt, and many nieces and nephews.
A service was held Oct. 20 in the New Life Covenant Church, Saginaw. Pastor Brad Shannon officiated. Burial was Mon., Oct. 22, 2007 in Max, N.D. Carol Ann Bakke, Carol Ann Bakke, Zenith Terrace, died Fri., Oct. 19, 2007 at St. Luke’s Hospital. She was 64.
She was born in Duluth on Jan. 25, 1943 to Ernest and Eileen Swanson and was a graduate of Duluth Central High School. Carol had worked in the Physical Therapy Dept. at St. Luke’s Hospital for 19 years and later spent 4 years with the Breast Cancer Awareness Program at the Duluth YWCA. She was a member of the Proctor Moose Lodge and enjoyed playing bingo, vacationing in Florida and watching classic movies.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents and brother Roger.
She is survived by her children Gene (Roberta) Bakke of Crystal, Sherri (John) Bonawitz of Duluth, Sandy (Donald) Brown of Fla., Jon (Terry) Bakke of Duluth and Mark Bakke and his son Rory of St. Paul, sisters Dianne Stone, Kay (Gene) Adamski, Peggy Swanson and Debbie (Steve) Sandstrom, all of Duluth, brother Randy (Janet) Swanson of Ramsey, grandchildren Justin, Lauren, Joshua, Allyson, Kelsey, John, Jason, Byron, Tara, Brenna and Rory, great-grandchildren Christopher, Kaitlyn, Damian, Serenity and Dylan, and many nieces, nephews and special friends.
A service was held Tuesday at Peace In Christ Lutheran Church. Burial at Forest Hill Cemetery.
