Patricia Hulbert Gagne Panyan, Patricia Hulbert Gagne Panyan, who was in the Proctor’s Women Golf League, was going to be celebrating her birthday Saturday with friends. Instead, those close to Patricia gathered together at her memorial service over the weekend. Patricia of Duluth passed away at St. Mary’s Hospital on Wed., July 26, 2006.
Patricia was born in Duluth to Lloyd and Kathleen (Meagher) Hulbert. She served the Women’s Army Corps during World War II as a Lab Technician. Later she worked for St. Mary’s Hospital, Maurices, Lake Haven Care Center, and Morgan Park High School.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands Albert Gagne and Robert Panyan, and brother Joseph Hulbert.
Patricia is survived by two daughters, three grandchildren twin brothers and several nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Wilbert F. Johnson, A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. today (Thurs.) in St. Rose Catholic Church for Wilbert F. Johnson of Duluth. He died Mon., July 31, 2006 at St. Mary’s Medical Center. He was 80.
Wilbert was born in Proctor on Nov. 10, 1925 to Olaf and Edith Johnson, and was a graduate of Proctor High School. He was an Army veteran of WW II, serving with the 95th Field Hospital in the Asiatic Pacific Theater. In China, he was part of a four-man team responsible for inoculating all Chinese troops going to Northern China to fight the Japanese. He personally administered 52,831 shots. He married Mae Trenti in Duluth on May 14, 1948. He worked as an Orthopedics Tech at St. Luke’s Hospital. He later retired as a Senior Master Sgt. at the MN Air National Guard Base in Duluth, after 30 years in Data Processing.
Wilbert was preceded in death by his parents, brothers John, Ray and Edward, and sisters Gertrude, Ruth and Carrie.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years Mae, sons, Kevin (Katie) of Taylors Falls, Kelley (Jola) of Hector, brothers Olaf and Alfred of Duluth and Roy of Virginia, sister Dorothy of Wis., grandchildren Jamie and Michael and their mother Sherryl, and Sarah and Isaac.

Lorraine J. “Larry” Amendola, Services were held Tues. Aug. 1 at Pike Lake Presbyterian Church for Lorraine J. “Larry” Amendola. She died Thurs., July 27, 2006 at St. Mary’s Hospital. She was 83.
Larry was born Feb. 24, 1923 in Fargo, ND to Charles and Olga Gifford. She graduated from Martin Hughes High School in Buhl in 1941. While in school, she met Frank Amendola, fell in love and they were married that fall after graduation. She was always there to help at Pike Lake Presbyterian Church, where through her many years she served on various committees and sang alto in the choir.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years Frank, parents Charles and Olga, brothers Charles and Robert and sister Geraldine.
Larry is survived by her children Frank (Marilyn) Amendola of Duluth, Wayne (Betsy) Amendola of Lake Vermilion, Lori (Roger) Martell of Duluth and Joseph (Vikki) Amendola of Saginaw, a sister Marion Thompson of Nisswa, grandchildren Wayne (Janelle) Amendola of Salinas Calif., Greg (Desire) Amendola of Hanover, Gary (Sarah) Amendola of Savage, Jason and Jeremy Amendola, both of Duluth, Lynn (Barry) Kramer of Phoenix AZ, Kevin (Terri) Amendola, Jeff (Irene) Amendola, Brianna and Brett Capra, all of Duluth, and seven great-grandchildren. The family would like to thank the staff at St. Mary’s Emergency Room, Coronary Intensive Care Unit, Cath Lab, Dr. Neustle and Pastor Richard Blood for their care of Larry.
Marion N. Mann, Maurice (Jackie) Mann of Proctor is mourning the death of his mother, Marion N. Mann. The former Stebner Road resident, died Wed., July 26, 2006, at Franciscan Health Center. She was 94.
She was born Dec. 28, 1911 in Glencoe, Minn. to Joel and Helga (Langlie) Overvig. She married Kenneth Mann October 3, 1931 in West Union, Minn. and moved to Cromwell, where they farmed until moving to Duluth in 1951.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Kenneth in May, 1990, a grandson, Michael Kaczmark in January, 1964, daughter Sally Jean Obrokta, on Easter Sunday, April, 1982, son-in-law Andrew Obrokta, November, 1990, sister Ruth Hanson, March, 1994, and daughter-in-law Sharon Mann, May, 2002.
Marion is also survived by a daughter Shirley (Michael) Kaczmark of Cloquet, two other sons, Paul of Lakeville, and Willis (Jackie) of Laurel, MD, grandchildren Jeannine (James) DeFedericis, Daniel Obrokta, Tammy (Daniel) Karban, Timothy Mann, Thomas (Sherrie) Mann, David Mann, James (Julie) Kaczmark, Eric (Alice) Mann, Michael (Holly) Mann and Kristen Mann, great-grandchildren Allen, David, Erin, Jason, Kelly, Adam, Bryan, Thomas, Gavin, and Megan, step great-grandchildren Dusty and Stephanine, step great-great-grandchildren Starla and Christian, sisters Hazel Ecklund of Shakopee, Blanche Konzak of Osakis, and Alyce Olson of Sauk Centre, brothers Harold (Harriet) Overvig, of Osakis and Orville (Betty) Overvig of Long Prairie, and many nieces and nephews, friends and loved ones everywhere.
Service was Tuesday in Salem Lutheran Church, Hermantown, Rev. Cheryl Fleckenstein officiating. Burial in Bethany Cemetery.
