Anna L. Molstad, Anna L. Molstad, who had lived in Proctor for 43 years with her husband George, a PHS teacher, died Mon., June 3, 2002 in Crosby. She was 92.
Anna Louis Wahlstrom was born in Brainerd. She grew up and attended schools in Brainerd. Anna and George Molstad were married in 1930 in Nashua, Iowa. They moved permanently to their summer cabin on Lake Nisswa upon his retirement in 1968. In recent years most of her time was spent between Yuma, Ariz. and the cabin, where she and her late husband enjoyed 30 years of retirement together. She will be remembered as a special mom and grandmother to her family. She was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Cross in Nisswa, and was a past Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star.
Anna is survived by four children, Lois Lewis of Wash., George “Leon” (Nancy) Molstad of Twig, Minn., John (Janet) Molstad of Texas and Susan Molstad of La., seven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and four step great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Interment was at Greenwood Cemetery in Nisswa. Charles “Charlie” Wayne Johnson, Services will be held tomorrow, Fri. for Charles “Charlie” Wayne Johnson, of Duluth. He died Tues., June 11, 2002 in a Duluth hospital. He was 50.
Charlie was born in Duluth, graduated from Proctor High School and Suma Cum Laude from UMD. Charlie was an accountant for Goodwill Industries for 10 years and member and past treasurer of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Proctor. He was also a Boy Scout.
He is survived by his parents, Al and Myrtle Johnson of Duluth; a brother, Roger (Barb Quast-Johnson) of Clear Lake, MN; and a sister, Darlene (John) Hastings of Duluth.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. - 7 p.m. today, Thurs. in Bell Brothers Chapel and from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. service Friday in Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Proctor.
Interment will be in Oneota Cemetery. Earl T. McIntire, James McIntire of Proctor is saddened by the loss of his brother Earl T. McIntire. He died Fri., June 7, 2002 at Inter-Faith Care Center, Carlton. He was 81.
He attended schools in Carlton, and Hibbing Community College. Earl served in the Army during World War II, where he earned a number of ribbons and medals. Earl was employed with Carlton County as a surveyor for 25 years.
He is also survived by his wife Lois, a daughter, four sisters, three grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
Interment was at New Calvary Cemetery, Cloquet. Full military honors were accorded by the Cloquet Honor Guard.
Jane Anne Russell , Jane Anne Russell of Saginaw succumbed to cancer Thurs., June 6, 2002 in a Duluth hospital. She was 66.
She was born in Duluth. After her childhood, Jane moved to Saginaw.
Jane is survived by her sons Eugene Jr. (Dawn) and Scott (Jean), both of Saginaw, daughters Victoria of Proctor, Leslie (Chap) Korman of Texas, Kelly of Saginaw, and Nicki (Curt) Larson of Saginaw, eight grandchildren, brothers Michael (Eloise) Ciaccio of Ala., Tony (Jeanette) Ciaccio of Saginaw, three aunts, an uncle, and her best friend, dog Bailey.
Marion Elizabeth “Jake” Jacobson, Shirley Anderson of Proctor is mourning the death of her sister, Marion Elizabeth “Jake” Jacobson. She died Fri., May 31, 2002 in a Duluth nursing home. She was 86.
The Duluth resident was born in Brainerd, Minn. She retired in 1980 after 20 years at St. Mary’s Hospital as a nurse’s aide.
She is also survived by three daughters, a son, two brothers, 11 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, two great-great-granddaughters, and several nieces and nephews.
Burial was in Oneota Cemetery.
Arthur “Art” A. Tessier, Thomas Tessier of Proctor is mourning the death of his father, Arthur “Art” A. Tessier, 80. He died Tues., June 4, 2002 in a Duluth hospital.
He was born in Duluth. He was an Army Veteran of WW II. He saw action on Omaha Beach on D-Day. He earned two Purple Hearts. He was held as a prisoner of war in Germany for nine months. His brother Ludger was in the division that freed him. He married Mary Hope Gilbert in Duluth.
He is also survived by his wife Mary “Hope”, another son, two daughters, two brothers, four sisters, seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Interment was in Sunrise Memorial Park.
