Business owner dies
Betty T. Denzler, of Proctor, passed away on Thursday, February 26, 2009 at her home surrounded by her family. She was 80.
She was born on June 12, 1931 in Duluth to Oscar and Ruth Bjerke. She attended Longfellow Grade School, West Junior and Denfeld High School, graduating in 1949. She was 77.
Betty married David Denzler on August 14, 1954. They lived in Silver Bay for approx. 15 years. They moved their family back to Proctor in 1966, where they opened Denzler’s Florist and Greenhouse. They moved in 1985 to Ear Falls Ontario, Canada where they owned a nd operated Fisherman’s Cove on Lac Seul. Their sons continued to operate the camp when Betty and David retired July 2000 and moved back to Proctor.
She was a member of Forbes Methodist Church, and was past president of Zonta International Duluth.
Betty was happiest when family and friends were there. She also was a lover of gardening. She would like to thank her Forbes Family for all their support while struggling with diabetes.
Betty is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, David; sons Dan (Betty Lou) and Keith (Patti); 3 grandsons Devon (Treasure), Christopher and Aaron; great-grandson Dylan; sister Lois (Roy) Stromgren; their children David, Karen and Lynn; and a sister-in-law Darlene Phillips and her son John (Kathy) Phillips.
A service was held Monday, March 2, 2009 at Forbes United Methodist Church, Entombment will be in Sunrise Memorial Park Cemetery. If preferred, memorials may be directed to the Forbes United Methodist Church Bell Tower Fund.
