Cindy L. Parker, Cindy L. Parker, who graduated from Proctor High School in 1979, passed away at St. Luke’s Hospital surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with cancer. The Hermantown resident was 44.

Cindy was born in Duluth on April 12, 1961 to Clarence and Mary Lou (Foster) Love.

She was preceded in death by her mother and grandparents.

Cindy is survived by her loving fiancee Mike, daughter Amy, son Cory, grandson Tyler, her father, siblings Deb (Dean) Ruohoniemi, Wayne (Cindy) Love, Bucky (Trisha) Love, Tammy (Russ) Rich, and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service was held Mon., Mar. 13, 2006.

Barbara Jean Granholm, Barbara Jean Granholm, who was raised in Proctor and graduated from Proctor High School, died Wed., Mar. 8, 2006 at St. Mary’s Medical Center, Duluth. She was 68.

The Esko resident was born May 21, 1937 in Duluth, the daughter of Carl and Ruth (Kinkead) Peterson. She worked in a dental office and then at St. Luke’s Hospital as a nurse’s aide. She married Jalmar Granholm on March 16, 1956 in Proctor. Together they made their home and raised their family in Esko, where they lived for the past 50 years. Barbara was a member of the Ruth Circle at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church in Esko where she taught Sunday school and was a confirmation advocate.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Betty Peterson Trottier and June Mary Grohsman, and brother Robert Peterson.

She is survived by her husband of 50 years Jalmar Granholm of Esko, children Dale (Carol) Granholm of Esko, Tom (Kathy) Granholm of Spruce Pine, NC, Sally (James) Shirwak of Tucson, Ariz., Susan (Tom) Solomon of Mahtowa, and Daniel (Lesley) Granholm of Murfreesboro, Tenn., grandchildren Patrick, Neysa, Nathan, Amber, Cory, Casey, Joshua, Samantha, Justin, Tyler, Stephanie, Sarah, Robyn, Danny Jr., Mac-Eino, three great-grandchildren, her aunts Mrs. Dave Pedersen of Duluth and Vesta Peterson of Punta Gorda, Fla., numerous nieces, nephews and friends, and special friends Joan Wuollet and Donna Erickson.

Service was held Saturday in St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church, Esko. Interment will be in the spring at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Cemetery in Esko.
